About Mokokoma
Mokokoma is a New Zealand design studio exploring how visual communication and digital interfaces help people understand information and complete tasks. The focus is clear messages, considered interactions and design that fits its real context.
Design starts with the audience
Before choosing a layout or interaction, consider who needs to use it, what they need to know and where they will encounter it. Those answers guide decisions about typography, colour, hierarchy, navigation and feedback. A design should remain useful at its actual size and in its actual setting.
Connected design disciplines
Mokokoma brings together related areas of design, from printed communication to digital products and game interfaces:
- Graphic design : Composition, colour, typography and visual hierarchy.
- Web and interface design : User experience, interface design, responsive layouts and accessibility for web and mobile.
- Design tools and systems : Practical workflows with Illustrator, Photoshop and Figma, including formats and handoff.
- Game and iGaming interfaces : Game HUDs, icon systems, animation, slot design and casino experiences.
A practical approach
Design choices should be possible to check in use: can a reader find the key detail, can someone complete the flow on a phone, does an icon stay clear during play, and is the final file ready for print or development? These questions connect visual craft with the experience people actually have.
